Cow Hollow Cutters...and Colors Is Closed--But Robb and Hannah Are Still Working!

The lease on the storefront at 2803 Greenwich Street expired on November 1, 2006, and was not renewed by the current property owner, so Cow Hollow Cutters...and Cutters closed after 19 years at that location.

Robb Schaller is operating an independent concession as "Robb Schaller, Hairstylist" at The Union Gent, 1957B Union Street, between Laguna and Buchanan Streets, across from Perry's. The Union Gent faces into a little alley called Charleton Court, just a few steps off Union. The shop was the very first men's hairstyling establishment on Union Street, which offered an alternative to barber shop haircuts to the professional men of the neighborhood who were wearing fuller hairstyles at the time.

In keeping with the times, The Union Gent offers up-to-date haircutting and haircolor services to men and women, and Robb feels that it is a perfect fit for him, considering his experience and skills. Please follow the link in the sidebar to Robb's new blog, www.robbschallerhairstylist.blogspot.com. And be sure to follow Robb to his new location. His business telephone #415.563.6140 has not changed.

Please contact Hannah Martin at 415.440.6033.

Cow Hollow Cutters...and Colors--"Dis Is It!"

This is Cow Hollow Cutters...and Colors, 2803 Greenwich Street, San Francisco. We are located at the western end of Greenwich between Baker and Lyon Streets. At the end of Greenwich Street is the Presidio Wall, and just a block away is George Lucas' Letterman Digital Laboratories. Three popular restaurants are within a block from us: Liverpool Lil's, Baker Street Bistro and The Curbside. Another well-known business in our little community is Phil's Electric, on the corner of Baker and Lombard Streets.

The 45 Greenwich Muni stops on our corner, and the 43 Masonic Muni stops a block away, at Lombard and Lyon Streets. Parking is usually easy in this neighborhood. It is one of San Francisco's secret little residential-business areas that is not overly congested.

Although small, Cow Hollow Cutters...and Colors is a light and airy space for haircutting and color services. Please visit our unique workshop and gallery, or call for an appointment. Robb can be reached at 415.563.6140, and Hannah's business number is 415.440.6033.

Cow Hollow Cutters and Colors: "The Faces Behind The Hairstyles"

Robb's San Francisco Open Studio, October 2005

Robb hosted his San Francisco Open Studio weekend at Cow Hollow Cutters...and Colors in October of 2005. About 150 people showed up to enjoy the paintings, pizza and wine. Robb made several sales of his watercolors and was offered a commission from an interior decorator, Warren Sheets (www.warrensheetsdesign.com), to do a large (3' X 3')
watercolor, which now hangs in the lobby of The Pacific Regent, a twenty-two story condominium complex in La Jolla, California. Robb is currently working on a second commission for Warren, which is a set of four large watercolors to be placed in the new Del Mar Grand Golf Resort in Southern California. Here's Robb at his Open Studio, photo by Gavin Clark.

Cow Hollow Cutters...and Colors is a Place d'Arte

Cow Hollow Cutters...and Colors is a great place to drop in for a haircut, or to get your grey hair colored or to get fantastic high- and low-light effects, but we are also a gallery of brilliant watercolors that Robb has created under the name "Paliuli", to keep him in touch with his Hawai'ian aumakua. Drop by and enjoy a cup of tea and check out the colorful walls of the salon/gallery. Perhaps you'll see something that would brighten one of your rooms!

This Is Cory, Blonde Bombshell!

Cory is one of Robb's favorite clients, because she is always looking for a new, edgy look. We do a lot of color experimentation with her hair, recently using blonde-on-blonde effects with three tones and a geometrical, highly textured scissor-clipper cut, high and tight on the sides and ruffed up on top. You da BOMB, Cory!

Bob Walsh's "Micro-ISV" just published

One of the best things about operating a storefront service business like Cow Hollow Cutters...and Colors is getting to know our clients, and we have a diverse and dynamic clientele here! Busy, professional and creative people from all over the Bay Area have found our unique little space on the northern slope of San Francisco, and they are always sharing their current projects with us.

One of our favorite tech guys, Bob Walsh, has just published a book, "Micro-ISV", which is available on Amazon.com.

"Micro-ISV: From Vision to Reality" explains what works and why in today's emerging micro-ISV sector. Currently, thousands of programmers build and deliver great solutions ISV-style, earning success and revenues much larger than you might guess. Written by and for micro-ISVs, with help from some of the leaders of the field&emdash;this book takes you beyond just daydreaming to running your own business. It thoroughly explores how it is indeed possible to launch and maintain a small and successful ISV business, and is an ideal read if you're interested in getting started.

The book is getting great reviews, which you can read at http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1590596013/ref=ase_safarisoftwar-20/103-1278362-5832631?n=283155&tagActionCode=safarisoftwar-20.
